The Uttar Pradesh government has launched an initiative to promote medical device manufacturing in Greater Noida. The government aims to make Uttar Pradesh a world-class hub for manufacturing medical devices. This initiative is expected to attract significant investments and create job opportunities. The initiative will primarily focus on high-potential sectors, such as cancer care, radiology, imaging, IVD, implants, electronic medical devices, etc. Additionally, it will position Uttar Pradesh as a key player in India’s medical device manufacturing ecosystem.
UP government to boost medical device manufacturing in Greater Noida
The UP government has launched a new scheme to boost medical device manufacturing in Greater Noida. Under this scheme, the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allocated 21 industrial plots in Sector-28 to a medical device park. Out of the 21 industrial plots, 16 plots measure 1,000 square metres and five plots measure 2,100 square metres.
The scheme is inviting companies from the medical device sector to establish manufacturing facilities in the region. Investment in high-potential areas, such as radiology, imaging, cancer care, in-vitro diagnostics (IVD), cardio-respiratory equipment, implants, renal devices, and electronic medical devices is expected.
This medical device park in Greater Noida is expected to become India’s largest. Moreover, the park will drive significant economic growth in the state. Additionally, it will create a specialized ecosystem for medical device technology and innovation in the medical device sector. Greater Noida’s medical device park
Greater Noida’s proposed medical device park is strategically located in Sector-28. The 21 industrial plots offer connectivity advantage. The premium for the 1,000 sq m plot is ₹77.30 lakh and has a registration fee of ₹7.73 lakh. On the other hand, the 2,100 sq m plot has a premium of ₹1.62 crore, and the registration amount is ₹16.23 lakh.
The proposed medical device park will be located along the Yamuna Expressway. The plot will have access to the Noida International Airport in Jewar. It will also benefit from proximity to key infrastructure projects, such as the proposed International Film City, the F1 MotoGP track, the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster. Additionally, hubs for MSMEs, apparel, handicrafts, and toys are located close by. In future, it will be connected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. This will improve transportation, thereby enhance supply chain and logistics.
